Just only about 2 dosens buses and trucks, which had to be upgraded, caused all that mess. I stopped the game and began the revision. So I ended up in a total mess with a prospective to revise the whole station set and whole route list, given I wasn't sure anymore which plane is lost, which train was stacked, which track was upgraded and which one was not.
#Openttd autoreplace upgrade
I only wanted to upgrade the very few percents of my park, but failed even in that project, due to inability properly read the pop-ups and information line. I saw a lot of pop-ups about plane crushes, but no one could be served, - they all were gone instantly, been replaced by another stupid messages about vehicles getting old, which used to disappear in the same way. Meanwhile, after few years of gametime, I came to clear understanding, that I totally lost control over my empire (which was perfect before). So, I was forced to deal with it manually, given the hustle of pop-ups and beeps continued to rise. But soon I've started getting messages about aging planes (over 300) and trains (over 100), most of which I'd preffer to leave untouched (replace to same models).
#Openttd autoreplace Patch
I switched off the Autorenew function in Patch Configuration Menu couple years before the new MCI bus and Scania truck were expected to appear on the market and launched the total inspection of my vehicle stock. Now, the very fresh exapmle from the game I just abandoned because I lost all my mood trying to upgade my motive park, which had over 400 buses and trucks, to latest models.

And there is no place for "if only" here - the same model always able to take same load. That's correct: if I use autoreplace - nothing disappears, here you're absolutelly right.īut you missed the point: the autoreplace does NOT allow me to upgrade the vehicle (change the model). Reported version: 0.5.3 Operating system: All This situation has been discussed far over the decade, since TT was originally released. Well, could be done, FE, with "Alt+Icon", how ‘bout that?. Let's consider such situations "accidental". Of course, sometimes you want to send it to depot urgently, right away. And when I want to replace vehicle, I should click "Go to depot" icon and forget about it until I'll get the message that the vehicle is waiting in depot. Just after that it should stop its normal activity and take a ride to depot. So, the ride to depot should be suspended until the vehicle will reach its destination point and release the load. Can you imagine that in real life the passengers will be delivered to car junk or car dealer instead of bus terminal and then left there? Nonsense, right? So why it happens in TT? Why should I follow up every damn vehicle and try to catch the moment between load and unload to send it to depot empty? Don't I have more important things to do? How many years it will take me to upgrade, say, the whole bus set acting in such way?. The manually renewed vehicles should NOT go to depot loaded. From that moment I'll start to send them to depot for upgrade. Then I'll resume the game until I'll start getting messages about aged 727's. When I get the message about B-1021 availability, I'll pause the game, select all 727's and reset Autorenew to OFF for all of them, one by one. So, when I buy B-727, I set it "Autorenew" checkbox to ON. Then start to upgrade them to that new model. I want all B-727 planes to be automatically renewed until B-1021 will become available. The only these vehicles should send messages to player when getting aged, so the player can decide - activate autorenew, or send vehicle to depot for upgrade.
#Openttd autoreplace manual
If it is set to OFF, then the vehicle is a subject for manual replacement (upgrade) when the time comes. If it is set to ON, the vehicle should be renewed automatically in silent mode to same model, not disturbing the player with these annoying messages about getting old (besides, with a lot of vehicles in game, these messages are simply disappearing instantly, and supplemental beeps converting to constant chaotic noise while you loosing your mind from that cacophony).

The vehicle control window should have the "Autorenew" checkbox, which could be switched to ON or OFF. "Autorenew" should be the unique property of every single vehicle and NOT the whole vehicle set.You actually left with 2 choices:ġ)Set Autorenew to ON and generally loose any ability to upgrade required vehicles in time, orĢ) Set it to OFF and let the game to pass over while trying to manage the whole vehicle set manually. The current autorenew function leads to total chaos when you have hundreds vehicles in game.
